Snickerdoodle AKA Shane, is an independent character and comic artist from the Twin Cities of Minnesota. Attached to comics, animation, and storytelling while moving from place to place near the arts district of his City from a young age, he is greatly inspired and motivated by the inevitability of change, the concept of creation, and is driven by the need to prove its usefulness to humanity in the name of practicing empathy, compassion, and self acceptance in spite of the side-gig hustle that permeates the creative space he was once pressured to endure.

Combining that mantra with his personal understanding of the inherent queerness and oddity that inspires human connection, he aspires to create stories that are good-humored, bright, pleasurable and exciting-- but also seeks to use those elements to thoughtfully construct narratives that provoke us to ponder in the moment what makes us....well, us-- and to challenge the fears that arise in the process.

He was influenced by storytellers by the likes of Satoshi Kon (Perfect Blue, Paprika), Hayaoi Miyazaki (Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away), Jérémie Périn  (Last Man, DyE Fantasy), Jamie Hewlett (Tank Girl, The Gorillaz), Daisuke Ishiwatari (Guilty Gear), and Trudy Cooper (Platinum Grit, OGLAF) to name a few.

Today, Snix strives to combine the fascination of the surreal, the agony of uncertainty, the elation of infatuation, the humor of frivolity, the dangers of blind hedonism, and the joys of freespirited love into a body of work that he hopes one day inspires hope and understanding for unconditional love and radical acceptance, and how giving that to ourselves helps us more readily give that to others.
